What configuration do you have (and what settings are you running at, and what do you have open)? Because that sounds extra bad.

Glad I bought the SP 2017 edition, full day battery life, so 8+ hours for me on a single charge. Looks like you might have something open in the background that is draining the battery or worse case, your battery is dying. If you still have warranty, ask Microsoft for a repair/replacement.

 

Ps. I heard that a lot of Surface devices have issues in the first year of buying the device. Something stupid like 25% of all devices have something wrong with them within the first year... (Apple is only 10% of all devices)

It's brand new, Windows 10, I don't even have the backlight in the keyboard on and nothing running I'm the background that's not what I'm using
