For gaming - sorta, not really聽

For anything else: yes

Okay, makes sense, I was thinking about upgrading to ryzen for a couple reasons. I do game a lot on this machine but I also do some photoshop, plan to do some editing and rendering, and some other not game related stuff. Plus I want to overclock the ryzen while I cannot do this on my 7500

Do you think 2400mhz is enough? or should I go with some faster ram?

I'd go with faster RAM, but only if you get a great deal during Black Friday and then sell your 2400mhz set down the line for more than Black Friday pricing.

I don't think it's worth it.

I would wait to see what Zen+ and the next Intel platform offers up, tbh.

Save some $$$$ and make a decision then.
