Building for a friend who is quite picky and I don't know what to look for. He's looking for a case that has functionality but looks.

Tempered glass is a must, needs to a mid/full tower.
Dust filters are a must, and a PSU shroud is -almost- certainly needed. He wants a clean look with functionality.

I recommended him the dark base 900 because the chi charging is awesome, he loved it but it has no PSU shroud and an open mobo tray, so cables go everywhere. Otherwise, it's perfect.

He values looks a lot, so he says he's willing to spend £250 on it (max) but only if it's justified or fits perfectly with what he wants. By "Functionality" he means things like good cable management, clean looks, fan hubs, dust filters, sound-dampening foam, IE not just a "metal box" as he calls the other cases.

Cases he likes:
Dark base 900 , but it has no PSU shroud.
Define meshify C, but it lacks features.
That new cooler master case with the crappy build quality
S340 elite, but it lacks functionality.
H700i, but the price is completely unjustified. He says it looks just like the S340 elite but it's twice the price.

I've seen these but afaik they don't ship to the Uk and are shipped to order. Plus they're really expensive.

Yoi can work around the shipping issues, but yes, they are extremely expensive. I wpuld reccomend to buy it later after you make your build.

"Here is some advice that might have gotten lost somewhere along the way in your life.

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.
