 So time to upgrade from my fx 8300 build and go on up im thinking of getting a ryzen 3 1300x to match up with my rx 470 If there are any other parts that would be good instead of a ryzen 1300x i need a good processor compared to what i have now the motherboard doesnt matter if it works out the box and i dont have to update the motherboard im happy my budget is 350-400 i would also like a new case... (better than my cheap $20 case) thats quiet has good cable management have has rgb led lights

Honestly speaking I'd just go for the Ryzen 5 1400 or 1600 if you could stretch for it. it's a lot better for future proofing so you can keep it for 3-5 years. pairing that with your RX 470 will be really nice and I don't see you running into any issues with them. In terms of motherboards (IMO) #1 Asus #2 Gigabyte #3 MSI. even their very low end products hold up very well.

will it fit my budget though cause i have to get ram a new processor and motherboard and wanting to get a new case

You'd have some problems with your budget if you want RGBs built in, but you could buy and install them, that would make your life a lot cheaper, i think the 1300X will be fine when you overclock it, you'd probably easily reach 4 GHz

The overclocking in R3 chips are extraordinarily good, but Ryzen 5 futureproofness will be more important as workload will increase (not to say maybe you will encode videos).

"Make it future proof for some years at least, don't buy "only slightly better" stuff that gets outdated 1 year, that's throwing money away" @pipoawas

 

-Frequencies DON'T represent everything and in many cases that is true (referring to Individual CPU Clocks).
