My PC is pretty loud and everything I do doesn't seem to have an effect on the CPU fan speed. My two 120mm fans are nice and quiet, the main 92mm CPU fan is just too loud. The temperature always stays below

50 C and so I'd rather have a slightly hotter cpu with a quieter system. I've turned off Cool n Quiet and used speed-fan and this doesn't have an effect, and I cant find anything in my bios to help me either. Any ideas?

You could always slap a 92mm Noctual fan in its place. Alternatively, you could get a cooler which uses bigger fans so you don't have to deal with a smaller one. The cheapest option might be to get a resister so your CPU fan doesn't get above a certain threshold.

Ghetto solution: Grab a in-line resistor.

Better solution: Buy a better 92mm fan (Noctua, be quiet!)

Best solution: Grab a new cooler, like the Hyper 212 Evo/X or Xigmatek Gaia.

Update BIOS to newest. Under PC Health find selection for Fan speed and set it to silent (if fan is not PWM this might not work). Use gigabytes software or some other 3rd party software to set speed to 50%. Only reason why fan speed wouldn't react to change is that either there isn't sencor for it or that BIOS is just being annoying.
