Why is hardware so so so so expensive in Singapore? Sometimes it can be up to 40% more expensive than what is sold in the US

Go to tradepac, they are slightly cheaper.Though PC Themes is more trustworthy.

It is probably because of the Importer or Exporter. The P9X79-E WS is 800+$ SGD when the Rampage IV Black is 699$ SGD,when both cost the same on newegg.

Weird stuff. Is there an easily accessible website or place near Singapore that has prices close to that of newegg?

The only way is to browse all the price list and asking(for example fuwell have a few booths but all their prices are different) the price on the spot.Asking is necessary because sometime they typed wrong prices in purpose.Best Buy Computers even have a 4570K in the price list which is non-existent.

Or you can order server hardware from RimBlock at VR Zone forums. But only Intel Xeons and Atoms,he does not Mass Order(cheaper than Indent from Sim Lim shops) Opterons.

Seems like only xtreme solutions have a wide range of products. But are very expensive

For example, their announced price of the all yellow DS3 is S$279 (easily >200CND), whereas NCIX Canada is selling it for $169CND, that's not even 200SGD. I asked them about it and was told they are getting the yellow DS3 at a very high price themselves. That's just one example, PC hardware and peripherals in Singapore is plain nutz.....I bellyache about it, but in the end, I'd still have to get hardware from SLS. I'm also getting the exorbitantly priced yellow DS3 MX Clear.....I do get a little discount from XS, and I try to buy stuff in Singapore because I want the local warranty that go with them.

How do I get discount? By buying tons of stuff from them, to the point that they recognize me on sight. I've bought my HHKB 2 Grey, DS2 78Version, DS2 Special Ed with white key caps, YOTS, Keycool 84 LED....

I don't understand your second question though....would I recommend Malaysia?

I've heard that Low Yatt (often spelled as Lowyat) is a great place to look for hardware, it's sort of like a KL equivalent of SLS.....much like Panthip Plaza in Bangkok. As for prices, just be aware of local prices when you shop at Lowyat....I've only heard of Low YatT, haven't been there myself....I have been to Panthip Plaza in BKK, the hardware there is pretty pricey, but there are other things to buy there....know what I mean? ^_^

Hey I know you, I think I sold a razer headset to you on vrforum once :D

Also to TS, things in singapore aren't expensive. I got a 780 for 700$ at SLS which is okayish. Definetely not 40% more or whatever.
