I'm looking for a first build that, including a monitor but no other peripherals, comes in close to 2000$. I've made this list after 3 years of research. I want a smooth 1440p gaming rig that will last at high to ultra settings 60fps for years to come. Any insight is welcome.

Yeah that looks pretty good, a few things are slightly overkill and if it was me I'd change a few minor things but otherwise it looks good.

I would get some cheaper RAM and an i7.

Other than that looks pretty good as @JM21 said, a few things are a bit overkill.

If at first you don't succeed...

Call it version 1.0

What will you do with the build?

If you get an AiO, at least get a 280mm.

Get faster and less expensive RAM.

There's no need for an NVMe SSD for normal tasks. It won't improve boot times, game load times, etc.

You can get cheaper 3TB HDDs.

With a ~$1600 budget, you should be able to get a 1080 Ti into the budget fairly easily.

You can get better PSUs for the same price.

You can get Windows from Reddit or Kinguin for ~$25.

You don't need that many fans. And Corsair's AF and SP fans are pretty mediocre.

You should get a 1440p ≥144 Hz G-sync monitor, at least

:)

Okay, can you recommend any parts? I'm trying to stick with a mostly RoG and Corsair theme, black and red and silver. Also 1440p 144Hz G-Sync is really expensive from what I've seen. Any more help is appreciated.

Would this be okay? Assuming you get Windows from Kinguin or Reddit. Chose the same case as you, but there are lots of other decent options. Ended up with a black build with some RGB. Changing the CPU to the 8400 wouldn't reduce in game performance noticeably,

Stayed at the same price limit you had. Upgraded to a i7-8700k, left the AIO cooler, left the motherboard, changed the storage to just an m.2 SSD, NVME is a bit unnecessary and as it is just for your boot drive it won't be a huge difference and not worth the money spent, 3TB seemed high most people don't need that much so I went down to 2TB. Went for a cheaper GPU, and just as nice looking, the EVGA GTX 1080. Switched cases for something that looks better but is also functionally better, the Meshify C. Changed to a better PSU @ 650W which is more than enough, and changed the case fans to something that is all around quieter, cheaper, and better optimized.

This doesn't look bad at all so far, the only issue would be that I was looking for integrated Wi-Fi on the mobo, which only the E had, although thats only 20$ or so more.

You can get the H110i for about the same price as the H110i. 280mm instead of 240mm radiator.

Other than that, if it's still within budget, it looks good. The GPU seems to lack pricing now

Yeah I noticed that, between like the 5 minutes I was looking at it and looking at this they ran out of stock.
