RAM for threadripper

Hello folks, i'm looking for ram for threadripper from my local shop and im not really sure if this one would be ok

If you want the cheapest b die kit this is it.

It's not significantly cheaper than the one you listed though and yours is guaranteed to be 3600 MHz and it's also b die (you can tell since pretty much all 3600+ kits are b die). Tbh just keep that kit it should be ok.

Not actually single but dual rank. All 16gb ddr4 sticks are dual rank; that list is referring to the 8gb version of this ram.

Those are dual-ranked sticks and you're getting four of them for two channels or one for each channel (preferably) making the 3600 difficult to achieve. I would get a single-rank kit of 4 instead.

Single rank kit would only let you go up to 32 gb ram tho

64gb is kind of needed as i use it most for 3d sculpting...

 

so im kind of good to go with the ones i have? actually i had ordered them a week or two back and they cost 760 instead of the 828 shown there now, think i got lucky with an out-dated price back then!

I'm aware, but he's not getting 3600 on dual-ranked DIMMs. If OP wants more memory, he should forego the 3600 and try to buy dual-rank DIMMs for all slots since Ryzen benefits from both scenarios.

Says who? Just put SoC voltage at like 1.6v and set dram voltage to 2v

How much is a quad-rank kit? 4x16GB should provide you with a ton of bandwidth if you combine it with two channels.

get 8 sticks

so i finally put together the machine and im not getting the 3600... keeping the latencies as preset (cant remember what the short name for this is, 3 letters) i can run it stable at 3060 mhz... would it make sense to tinker with it more? i honestly have no idea
