QDC as drain valve?

As title says,

 

Is it normal to use a qdc as a drain valve? Or just get a regular drain valve like this? I know it has to be connected for fluid to run (which is how I want it). I wanted to drain the loop as fast as possible without unscrewing a fitting, etc. Does it lessen water flow more than a normal drain valve? I hope my drawing makes a better understanding of my question.

BTW I'm copyrighting my art if anyone dares to use it

thats a good idea. I just broke up the IN tube with a QDC and disconnect it when draining.

do you think using qdc will make the loop drain slower or nah?

Yes it can be done as long as you have an extra quick disconnect to hookup to drain the fluid.

Yep! I will have both female and male qdc's for the drain.

Just be sure to place it in a lowest point of the loop or where there is the most fluid usually the reservoir.

well i just remove my ball valve when i want to drain, the flow throught it is so poor that it just takes too long this seems to me like a good idea tho
