Fascinating.  Do you have a source?  I assume he said it in a video or something

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

why do fpc members post fpc related question in general thread so that us non fpc subs can feel bad about it. do fpc members have dedicated forum to ask about fpc stuff?

From what I have seen, you can only comment on the videos and you can not create a topic there.

Actually no, the section is used entirely for posting videos, not unlike "LTT Official".  That said there is one "general" thread I guess they could post in but it's not the same.

Yeah there's no forum for floatplane members to actually post stuff

oh cool. now im curious, the name OP just mentioned is a forum member? what's that has to do with just FPC or FPC also has something else special. ive never been to FPC myself but I assume members are still the same and they don't have extra stuff like companies in it or some new categories that makes it diff from non fpc members?

I'm not sure what you mean but what he's saying is that when the off-forum site goes live soonTM there will be bitwit videos as well as LTT videos

It means what I said above, and there will be more after him but he's the first apparently.

Simply, it is another group/channel that will be the first to have their videos on FPC sometime in the future.

I understand the feeling. This would have been better as status update or general post in Welcome thread.

As for @Ryan_Vickers, Linus confirmed it also in YT livestream (unlisted and linked in FP).

You native english speakers.... Always making things long when not required. Its "like" or "just like". Not "not unlike". Thats double negative. Don't they teach you English in school? First thing we are taught about English grammar is to never use double negatives.

This is cool glad to see float plane growing. Wish it would be all on the same subscription thou.

In the end, that would require too many subscribers or higher general fee to make it worth it. With Vessel, $3/mo for all content creators you watched during month. So if you watch only 1, its ok. If you watch 10, its really like being on YT. This works more like Patreon.

Actually, double negatives have perfectly legitimate uses in English, particularly in this case. "Not unlike" does not necessarily have precisely the same meaning as "like"; the double negative can form a weak positive. It's a really common and perfectly acceptable construction and in fact, the Oxford English Dictionary even uses it in the first example sentence in its definition of unlike:

Quote

unlike1
preposition

  1. Different from; not similar to.
‘a large house not unlike Mr Shah's’

I think a unified subscription models was one of the reasons vessel failed in the first place (Among many other reasons but still)

Yes this is correct. The cost model is not sustainable.

I really hope that FPC becomes a stable place. With YouTube slowly tightening the noose on new creatives, somewhere new for communities to thrive will be needed!

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?
