144hz blurriness

I've just purchased a new dvi-d dual link cable and when I plugged it in, and changed from 60hz to 144hz on my XL2411Z monitor it went blurry. 

 

I'm using a gtx 750 2gb card and is it even capable of going to 144hz?? (plan on upgrading soon so don't ask why i have this monitor and such a poop card)

 

I've tried installing the drivers for my monitor even though i've been told they're not needed anymore for windows 10, and I have tried using both dvi-i and dvi-d ports on the 750 and nothing has worked, No idea what the problem can be.

I'm sure the card is capable of doing 144Hz in the desktop.

Is there supposed to be a pushed in pin on a DVI-D dual link cord? Because on both ends of the cord a pin is pushed in, at the exact same spot?

bump. still no solution, have tried almost everything i can think of, the DVI is high quality, my monitor port isn't broken, and this 750 is the only problem i can think of.
