USB Audio Interface

Hello. Im thinking of buying an USB audio interface for my BM-800 microphone. I was looking for some options and then I found the Behringer UMC22 and im thinking of buying it. What do you think? Thank you!

Too pricey :/. Looking for a cheaper alternative. The umc22 is like 50€ in europe.

I have the 202HD and I've been happy with it so far. For around $50 I don't think there is a lot to complain about. The build quality is pretty decent for the price and the phantom power seems to work fine. Out of all the budget USB interfaces, the one you chose is the one I would get. Mine is just a slightly older model of the one you are looking at if I remember correctly.

If you would double your budget you can take PreSonus AudioBox USB 96 it's really awesome for it's price +  The Studio One Artist software

That sounds about right (UMC22 or similar). I don't think some people are realizing that the BM800 microphone referenced is like 24 euros, so this is not top-quality, expensive production.

I didnt understood what you said. You can get this mic for like 8€ on ebay with free shipping. Also I saw some reviews with a um2 and the quality blow my mind. So if i buy a umc22 the quality will be even better.

No. What you're spending more on is the extra features and better design, rather than a "much better" pre-amp or ADC.

 

At the price you're looking at those behringer models are the best bet.

I've read on some forum that the pre amps are better than in the umc2 and its worth the extra money. I dont mind giving a little more money for the umc22 and getting a slight better audio. Also the um2 is kinda "funky" and the umc22 looks way more cleaner. These are some aspects which i take in count.

You're spending less than £/€10 more on the UMC22, it's highly unlikely they put a different pre-amp in it.

No, im spending like 25€ more. Im from portugal. I just heard that is was better. I might thinking about buying it. But what do you think?

Personally I would go for the UMC22. I think it looks better and has better functionality as well as balanced outputs.

So... I got the umc22 with me now and the audio quality isnt really decent. I saw some videos of raw quality with the bm 800 and the um2 and it seems better.Like this one: 

I installed the drivers and all. What should I do?

Its kinda worse quality than that onr, and that should not happen.

Strangely enough, I'm not a mind reader. When you say it sounds worse that could mean any number of things. I can't help unless you put some effort in.

The sound quality(while he's talking) sounds better and louder, and without background noise.

Have you turned phantom power on for the mic (switch on the back of the interface)?

Use the windows recording devices as a visual aid, turn the gain for the mic up (knob on the front of the interface [Gain 1]) until your normal talking voice fills approx. 4/5ths of the VU bars.

I did turn on 48v. What windows recording device? I also gave gain 2 on max and output on middle
