titan x Is a Titan X (Maxwell) still worth it for £425 in 2017

I'm just curious I saw a Titan X for £425 in my local pre-owned store. And at first I thought it was a bargain now I'm not to sure if it's a good deal I will probably go back and buy it. BTW it was in mint condition boxed founders edition.

It's about as good as a 1070/980 ti

I would get a gtx 1070 it performs similarly but is quieter, especially if you get an aftermarket cooler (Such as evga acx 3.0). It also uses less power

But the Titan has 12gb vram

He will most probably not use it but if its the same price with 1070 get it

titan X (maxwell) i would say assuming got a good example of it like good thermal paste, not been pushed too hard its whole life, probably between 1070 and 1080 on upper side of things or willing to mod it and put it on water/put a 980Ti seahawk cooler on it.    on average i would say its a little closer to a 1070 and a 980Ti than a 1080.

 

so is it worth it?  maybe?  depends how you feel about the market and performance and how you plan on using it...
