2017 Fall Creators Update Stuck?

Over the past 2 hours I've experienced drops in network activity while downloading 1709 Fall Creators Update for Windows 10 64-bit. After a few minutes though it picked back up & resumed downloading at the full 7.6Mbps bandwidth. However now it's been stuck at 97% for almost 30 minutes, there's absolutely 0 network activity unless I do something such as posting here now. Should I continue to wait & not do anything else online? Will it completely brick everything if it comes time to shutdown my PC for the night & it's still stuck at 97%?

Do you think restarting my PC now would trigger it to finish downloading?

It might.

Ideally you would tell M$ when you want to update, not the other way around.

It's just showing 0% now for several minutes, I can't keep waiting as there are things I need to do before the nights over. If it downloaded 97% worth to my PC shouldn't it just pickup where it left off? I can't believe it would just delete over 3GB of data because of 1 failed attempt.

It jumped to 6% downloaded then switched to installation, hopefully the install portion during restart doesn't take hours as well. Although it shouldn't with my specs, comfortably doing what I neglected while it installs now & no where near 50% CPU usage.

Chances are if they have that many systems, they would be using a Managed Windows Service. Updates are performed differently and I find it's much more reliable.

Yea. It was supposed to be updated but some people are reporting that had ones modified in late September. Probably depends on the site of your specific region.

I mean I guess. When I’m playing my GPU goes to 100% since I have a balanced system, I don’t need Task Manager to tell me that.

But there is defienlty a use for it and it does advance the OS forward.

since I have a balanced system *snip*

that's bs you're CPU isn't at 100% and neither is your RAM or storage as a matter of fact so you can't throw the word balanced around. GPU isn't your bottleneck that's all.

the reason i'm interested in it is because i use GPU for live rendering of my 3D work not for gaming lol cause yeah obviously it's useless for that, we all know the game is what's hogging all the GPU in a 3D workload we don't need windows to tell us.
