Was finalizing a build that revolves around the 1950x, but started hearing that as far as closed circuit cooling goes; Corsair Hydros just don't cut keeping the threadripper cool.

I'm not looking to make a custom loop, but more after tips or advice on a good and proper cooler for the 1950x. Thanks!

Doesn't that 115i take care of around 250W of heat?

TDP from 1950x is 180W, so there should be some headroom for OCing.

No, a Monoblock for it soon (i believe zenith Extreme). The supremacy has been out since TR launch

but that block is the best option for a custom loop

Been running mine under the Corsair H115i and it is holding up for 24/7 Seti@Home computing. Temp sits at 70 deg C on full load, stock settings. It wouldn't handle any OC though.

Just put in an order today for an Enermax Liqtech TR4 360 because I want to drop those temps down further. It works better because the block covers the full 1950X heat spreader and has more radiator/fan capacity. It can handle up to 500W TDP.

I posted this in another topic, but I think it's worth repeating here.

I'm not sure about the other coolers, but here is my temps with the Kraken X62.

Idle  (This can jump as high as 45c-50c for about half a second, usually it spikes when i'm just starting on doing something, like opening the web browser)

Load.  (No temperature spikes here, the fans get quite loud though.  I have a pretty aggressive "silence" optimized fan profile)

Edit: Thought I would post this as well.

I would take the accuracy of these temperatures with a grain of salt though.

As you can see, the temperatures don't match with any of the other monitoring software's readings, and one of them was made by AMD themselves.

Sorry for the information dump.  :P
