Best Video Card or Video Cards for Video Editing

I will be editing 8k raw footage and my max budget for the video card or video cards is $2,000. I was planning to use an intel i9 7980xe. Is that overkill and if so should I get a cheaper CPU and up my budget for the graphics cards. Any suggestions?

CPU is the important factor with Adobe anything. Don't waste money on uselss extra GPUs that won't even be touched.

CUDA accelerated, anything rocking the GP102.

GPU accelerated (but not CUDA), Vega Frontier or WX Vega/Vega Pro.

You're wrong on that one. Some Adobe products, like Premiere, are fully capable of leveraging GPU acceleration.

 

Also, this is assuming OP uses Adobe and not Sony Vegas Pro or FCPX

To a point. Any GPU will pretty much give you your max potential speed increase in rendering a video.
