Hi guys so i have a dillema. I found a guy selling his "i5-3570k Ivy Bridge Quad-core 3.4GHz LGA1155" for $100 but i was able to put it down to $70 but still in process for $65.

then i also found a motherboard "asus P8B75-V" for $15 but the bad thing is he bent one (claim didnt see it yet) of the pin for cpu.

Now im thinking DIY fix. just simple be very very extra careful and bent it straight.

any thought, input. would be very much appreciated.

Pins can be best back into shape, so long as they were just slightly bent and not into a pretzel shape.

As long as you can test both parts, I don't see why not.

1 hour ago, vet folks said:

dont think i could be able to test both. since im meeting them somewhere. is checking the pins on the cpu and motherboard enough

It'd be preferred if they showed it working to you

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I have bought a number of used parts off CL, in all cases, I've insisted the seller shows the parts as working.

It might take a little doing, but in each case, I've bought working parts. If the seller can't prove it working, then don't buy. Other deals will come along

update. so i did asked the guy to verify if its working. i asked if he could plug it in and send photo or ill do it myself but he said "oh i just sold my mobo. oh i dont drive so its complicated for me" so yea i just said not interested anymore.

he does have like good 5 start reviews but id rather not spend 65 something sketchy.
