8700K or 1700X

I want to start my second personal build and would like as many opinions as I can get on whether I should buy into AMD with a 1700X or stick with Intel with an 8700K? Please vote using my StrawPoll link.

Sure don't state any thing other than i7 vs r7 that will be very helpful knowing what should actually fit your budget, need and wish perfectly.

Depends on your needs, but for now i would go for the 1700X since it is faster in multithreaded tasks.

And the fact that 8700K are all sold out or overpriced doesn't help either.

Even if The retailers sold the 8700K at MSRP, the 1700X + B350 will still be much cheaper.

so i choose 1700x for more budget

If you can get an 8700k at a reasonable price id say go for it. If not buy a 1700 (non x) as its much cheaper and can be overclocked to match performance

You can get a 1700 + motherboard for the same price as an 8700k...

Not the 1700x but you can easily oc it

Not to mention, the Wraith Spire is plenty to bump an R7 to 3.7ghz across all cores, given you didn't lose the silicon lottery horribly.

I'd take the 8700k, but wouldn't pay more than the base price.
