motherboard smoking sometimes and cpu overheat HELP!

It might be water evaporating from the wet rag, altho I am not sure. Please show pictures. Also if you havent make sure you turn off the pc and unplug it.

 

EDIT: if you are trolling then just don't...

This is really urgent, when i was replying thermal paste i dropped some of the crusty bits on the motherboard, i couldn't get them off with a wet rag but now when i start my computer up one certain part of the motherboard is smoking. THIS IS REALLY URGENT I NEED TO CLEAN THE PASTE OFF FAST! I AM REALLY STRESSED AND MY TURRETS SYNDROME DOESN'T HELP SO PLEASE!!!

If your motherboard is damp, you need to unplug it and dont use it for at least 48 hours while the water dries off. By turning it on while wet, you may have fried your motherboard and it may never work again.

 

Theres no need to go and ask for help on other's posts just because no one has replied to you in less than one minute.

 

EDIT: like others said, rubbing alcohol will displace the water and help the process along as it evaporates quickly.

@matt0725 i think all the water is gone i used linustechtips oven tequnick i have been waiting to try this WHAT TEMPERATURE IS THE OVEN SUPPOST TO BE URGENT???

It has to be at least 2,000 degrees to do anything.

Actually I'd microwave it, it takes 15 seconds instead of 2 hours. Use medium settings, or the popcorn button works on most too
