need a recommendation for blu-ray ripping software.

hey all. Im looking for recommendations for a software that can rip blu-rays to my PC. i had been using makemkv up till now, but the web page for it has gone belly up, and my evaluation period for it has ended, so its no longer usable. if it possible, i would like this solution to be open source, but if i need to go paid closed i will. that said i would say my budget for this is about 60USD. one of the features i liked about makemkv, is that i could go into the disc itself, select specific episodes of shows, what kind of audio i desire (in my case ether eng. or jap. dub.) and whether i want sub titles or not.

main/gaming system: intel core i7 5930K, 16GB Gskill ddr4, asus X99 deluxe, 2 titan X's in SLI, corsair AX860 PSU, noctua NH-d15, samsung 512 PRO SSD, 2+3 seagate HDD's, blu-ray ODD, corsair graphite 780t.   game capture system: AMD FX 8350 BE, 16GB ram (left over parts from torn down system), asus ROG crosshair V formula-z, GTX 770 SC, avermedia live gamer HG capture card, elgato HD60 s external usb3 capture device, OCZ 700w, cryorig M9a, kingston 250GB SSD(left over part from torn down system), seagate 1TB internat HDD, seagate backup plus 5TB USB 3 extrenal drive, corsair carbide 200R.

Maybe DVDfab I havent really used it myself but its around the $60 price range.

I would nt just give up on Makemkv due to the site going down, its the second time its happend this year.

But for the best of the best decryption Anydvd hd is the way to go. Always updating its decryption.

Personally the only 2 DVD / BluRay ripping software programs I trust to work fairly well are either RedFox (formerly Slysoft) or DVDFab.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, RTX2060) Mobile: OnePlus 5T | Koodo - 75GB Data + Data Rollover for $45/month
Laptop: Dell XPS 15 9560 (the real 15" MacBook Pro that Apple didn't make) Tablet: iPad Mini 5 | Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 10.1
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 | Panasonic TS20D Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)

I've used DVDFab, AnyDVD, and MakeMKV. For discs where there are multiple episodes (such as an anime series), MakeMKV I find to be the easiest of the bunch. If you just want to play Blu Ray directly, it's not quite as easy.

Honestly, given the poor state of Blu Ray (for the past 12 years), just choose what you thibk will be supported longest.

Don't know what happened to the website but you can get the current beta key on the subreddit.
