im thinking of getting a mechanical keyboard but im stuck on whether i should get the razer blackwidow x chroma or the coolermaster pro l...

please leave suggestions below

Corsair (first option) , Logitech or Steelseries (final option) are probably the best for keyboards. Razer are just - ughhh - I personally would stay away - and cooler master arent specialised in peripherals.

Go with what you want - looks is not always everything. Razer intrigues people IMO who are new into PC shit and have just seen all big youtubers use and promote items, yet they don't understand everything.

Cooler Master is the only gaming brand (aside from Ducky) taken seriously in enthusiast keyboard forums; they do a lot of their projects with community input. They're still the only "big" brand to have ever done a Topre keyboard. Best tolerances, most solid construction (among gaming brands, at least). Design choices like SMD LED's and standard layouts mean they boards can be upgraded quite a bit; modded Masterkeys are a common endgame board for RGB lovers.

Corsair has really great color software but Aurora means you can port lighting between Cooler Master, Corsair, Logitech, and Razer keyboards anyhow. They use cheap stabilizers and their tolerances aren't great on the plate. Great looking designs, but not solid feeling compared to most non-gaming boards. Design choices like the low wristrests are terrible for ergonomics but look good. Still better than Razer though.

Logitech has good build quality in general but Romer-G's aren't a very popular switch for a number of reasons. If you like Romer-G's then they have quite a bit going for them, but the fact that almost everything is proprietary means that you'll have to replace the entire board if you want to upgrade.

im not too new to the gaming industry but yea i get what you mean... all my friends who are new always talk about getting a full razer setup, i always tell them how theyre peripherals are shit compared to other companies but they always disagree, for then razer is the god of peripherals and i dont think anything can change their minds. Ok, back to the topic, i know razer has bad built quality but ive heard good things about the blackwidow X with the military grade metal construction and they have good software too but other than this i dislike all their other keyboards and mice except for maybe the deathadder.

You can argue the same thing about the  Corsair circlejerk with big YouTubers who don't know shit about keyboards as well. It goes both ways.

i wouldve gone for razer if only they had true cherry mx mechanical switches but they had to use knockoffs and the only switch available are the greens (cherry mx blue equivalent) and i prefer browns.

quality isnt much of an issue since i like the feel of the blackwidow x since its heavy and has no flex but i havent tested the maskeykeys pro yet.

That couldn't be further from the truth. Seems like you never heard of any other brand, let alone the good ones.

Also CM is more than known in peripherals world.

OP, CM MS pro L is the way to go here, by a mile.

I'd still say go for MS Pro L instead of Corsair.

I quite like my Masterkeys Pro S. Solid build quality, nice feeling keycaps, good cable (on the L version you even get a cable routing part). Furthermore the driverless RGB controls are nice
