6 to 6+2 pin extension, is it safe?

Pyrobot

In my case, i need to extend my 6+2 pci cable so i can connect it to my other different vga because my current cable cannot reach it. So is it safe if i use an extension?

Yes, that's the reasons extensions exist.

Usually cheap ones will work perfectly fine, but just keep in mind that if the wires are too thin, bad stuff could happen too.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Depends on the situation.

Without knowing the PSU it's not safe to say.

For an R9-295X2 it's not a good idea to do btw.

For an RX480 it is OK.

Like Stefan said.  Depends on the PSU.

Adapters add an additional point of failure and more resistance.   Knowing the PSU and the brand of type of adapter being considered is the only way to properly answer your question.

@Pyrobot

How did you archieve that??

The PCIe cable should be at least half a meter, that's more than enough for most cases.

How can it be too short??

What are you doing?
What case are you using?

Before wasting money on an extension I'd check that first...

Also with an S12II-620 the fan of the PSU would probably get a bit louder than before. So you might want to think about that too...

Seriously.  How did you come to that conclusion?

"IT'S SEASONIC.  EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE... ALWAYS.  NO MATTER WHAT."

What extension cable do you plan to use?  Just a regular extension and not an adapter, right?  PCIe to PCIe?

Knowing people and the Interwebs, it probably is one of those 1 PCIe 8pin to two PCIe 8pin or something like that...

But I still don't understand what he's doing.

The Seasonic S12II-620 has 4 PCIe connectors and around 550/650mm length.

How the hell can those cables be too short?!

Right.  And if that's the case, that's a horrible idea.

I still don't understand. You have two GPUs why? And you have such a low end PSU for such an expensive GPU why?
