printer offline even when it's on

I've no idea why, i cant even access the printer properties so that ip fix aint gonna work.

It's a port. It looks like a Ethernet port

tested with both my laptop and desktop, both says its offline

Is there any way to reset the printer so you can do the initial set up process again?

Initially, i simply set it up over wifi, it was pretty much auto. 

 

steps:

1. I resetted the printer to make sure no presets were there (it was bought used)
2. I basically did the "add the device" in control panel
3. viola, it worked like that.

So you didn't install the driver? Install the driver that Brother says is required for wireless operation.

I did, i followed the steps that Senzelian gave..

Install drivers - connect it via lan - make sure it gets an IP adress and can be pinged - make sure you print to the right device

if all that doesn't enlighten you come back here, but provide actual information - fcol!
