i7-4390k and i7-3930k

Hey guys! I work at a computer/electronic repair shop  and a computer came in the shop with a liquid loop that was a Fallout 4 themed build. Now the reason it was brought in was because it was the customer's son who lives across the country and mailed his build to his father and father went to fill it up and boom leaks. So he brought it to us and I really went all out on cleaning up his rig, really cleaning up his loop before cutting new tubing to revise it (sadly he only wanted 2 pieces of hard tubing :(). So anyway he comes in to pay for and take the computer after I was done with it and I'm helping him out to the car and he says :Hey you know back at the house I have two rigs that I have no use for and you can come buy and grab them, one has an original GTX Titan and the other has 690's in SLI" and I obviously go "Hell yeah I'll e right over after I get out of work" and he says "Alright look forward to seeing you". Anyway I get to his house and he points to these 2 Full Tower rigs, and says a bit about them and thats about it, I take them and put em in my car and merrily on my way. I get home to realize that not only one of the rigs has an AX1200i but BOTH of the rigs have AX1200i PSU's!!!! So immediately I am super pumped, I mean just there alone is 2 $300 PSU's you know?? So now im looking into the rigs a bit more, and one CPU is the i7-4930k and its paired with a Rampage IV Black Edition mobo, Corsair AIO, and 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM (4x8GB) and the other rig was a i7-3930k paired with Rampage IV Extreme mobo, Corsair AIO, and 32GB of Copprsair Dominator's (8x4GB). Also was equipped with a Samsung 840 EVO 1TB SSD and the other had a Corsair Neutron 240GB SSD. Also some extra goodies were a 5.25" Bay Multimedia card reader and 5.25" ASUS Temp/OC/Fan Controller (which actually looks pretty nifty lol). The first two pictures I'm showing is the customer's computer that he picked up (the theme was not mine, I had nothing to do with the choices of anything, I just did it so keep that in mind before you blast me for it lol). The pics after will be the systems and stuff that I got for free

SOOOO... LOL I'm just wondering what you guys think of the parts I got, I am not too familiar with these CPU's and was also wondering if there are any owner's out there that would like to comment on their experience with them and how everything is faring for them. Thank's a bunch guys!!!

Yeah. I was editing on it right up until Threadripper Launched and I built and stress tested it.

Hey thanks for the input man! Because my main rig is obviously a gaming rig but I really wanted a seperate system for workstation/editing and this seems perfect for the money (FREE) cant beat it hahaha, I see you have the 1950X man, how is it?!

As a person who exclusively used Intel HEDTs over the years, I don't like the direction Intel is headed or how it treats us consumers. I voiced this opinion with my wallet by skipping the X299 launch.

Not telling you to do the same. If you're happy, go for it!

Yeah I'm still happy with Intel, I can't wait to get my hands on the 7900x and the MSI Gaming M7 ACK Mobo!!! But sadly right now I just have the case and the PSU for that build lol. If you dont mind if i cleaned up one of these builds with a new case, got it looking really nice, what do you think II could get for it?

Specs would be:
i7-3930k

32gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @2666Mhz

Corsair AIO
Corsair 240GB SSD
1TB Western Digital
Either the 2 690's in SLI or the Titan
And a decent PSU (I have a few lying around, maybe an EVGA 1000w G3)

Proud 4930K owner here! Mine is over 2 years old, but still performs really well. It's clocked to 4,5GHz @ 1.35V, with  a score of 1246 cb in Cinebench R15.

Use it as my main rig, mostly for gaming. See full specs/pics in my signature :)

Main:  1650 v2   @ 4,6GHz   -   X79 Deluxe                -   GTX 1080 @ 2000MHz   -   24GB DDR3 @ 2400MHz / CL10

Side:   i7-4790K @ 4,5GHz   -   Maximus 7 Hero        -   GTX 1070 @ 2114MHz    -  16GB DDR3 @ 2666MHz / CL12

Hey man! Thanks for the input for sure! I just ordered a new case for the 4930k! I'm excited to build it into a beast machine! I'm thinking I should play the powerball or mega millions now, I'm having a string of good luck, might as well try! hahaha

Remember to quote, otherwise I don't get notifications. I think they're a perfect match like peanut butter and jelly. CPU usage usually sits around 30-40 % with Witcher 3/Ultra in big cities while watching streams/multitasking on 2nd monitor. I would say at stock speeds (3.4-3.9), it might hold the GPU back with 1-2 %.

I play games like Witcher 3 / Rise of the Romb Raider, CS:GO, Rocket League and StarCraft 2 @ 1080p 144Hz. For the last 3 e-sport titles, I cap my FPS to 144.

In single-player/story games like the first two, I like to settle down to 100 FPS cap, and my system almost constantly giving me 100 FPS, except in very demanding scenes where it can drop down to 80ish FPS.

If your concern was about bottlenecking, it's safe to say that I'm not being bottlenecked in any way. If I revert CPU OC to stock settings, I think I'll get around 1-2 % less FPS at max.

Hey, I really appreciate your input for real! Now I know what I can expect. I had a feeling it was still very much a relevant CPU I just don't have any experience in them whatsoever you know.

Floats my boat till this day. I mean, it's a 22nm 4th gen hexacore. If it was a 32nm 3rd gen then maybe I would upgrade to Ryzen. My plan is to keep my 4930K for now, and replace it with Zen 2 in 2019 :)
