As the title suggests, I need to get a 32gb kit of 2x16 memory for my system. I was playing PUBG last night and streaming and my monitoring and such and I was out of memory with just 16gb.

So to limp me along, I had a 2nd 2x8 kit here so I threw that in to give me 32gb of ram, but its now 4x8 and thats not ideal with Ryzen. So I am going to look into options of getting a 2x16 kit. Which kit do you think I should get and why?

i would just take the sacrifice of 4 sticks and run at 2400mhz

its a sacrifice u gotta make here, better 2400mhz 4sticks than 2sticks in 3000mhz for example ( in ur case )

with 4 sticks u somtimes need to overvolt ur mem controller to ensure stability :) ( could be a fix aswell )

Well I have the 2 running at 2933 right now with no problems. Just ran Aida64 stress for the last hour without any problems or crashes, so its stable. Only problem is that Ryzen doesnt seem to like 4 Dimms very much from what I have read on the interwebs.

if you can get it at 2933, there's no problem.

Ryzen has a harder time with higher memory clocks with 4 DIMMs, but if you can get high clocks, then you're golden.

aida64 is TERRIBLE with ram stability testing

run memtest89 atleast 12hours (3pass+)

run prime95 custom ( fill up all ram u have remaining, check taskmanager for ram remaining  while closing all applications on ur pc ) insert the amount of ram used to fill the whole kit, let it run atleast 24hours ( sadly it has to be 24hours because after 15-17hours errors can still occur with ram instability )

^ if u pass all of this then u can ensure stability, * ram testing is quite shit at times i know :P *

however i wouldnt trust aida for stability at all with ram ( it doesnt even fill ur ram )

prime95 is also not a proper test if u dont properly set it to fill ur ram entirely , u HAVE to do it custom

If you can't get it at the frequency you want, focus on low latency.  Latency affects Ryzen just as much as the frequency does.

oh I know ram testing can be cumbersome and tough, but I have no qualms with using Aida64 and testing RAM with it while stressing the CPU since they go hand in hand. Anytime I had a problems with timings etc, Aida64 always crashed on me so I use it as a good starting point and 99% of the time when Aida is good without crashing on me, I have no instability what so ever.
