overclocking artificating

I was overclocking my 1060 and there was a fuckwad of artifacting and then i realised, I didnt have geforce experince installed,

I mean Geforce itself shouldn't matter. Having the correct drivers would help. But Geforce is far from necessary.

i mean geforce as in any kind of utility at all, drivers or the app

My experience is that: Artifacting = memory overclocked too high; Driver crashes = core overclocked too high.
