Arrays (which to put simply, is a list and your CPU has a list has cores) have always started at 0, not at 1.

Not sure exactly the thoughts behind it, but that is how it is in programming too.

@Jezmund1 Ah then overclocking is extremely easy if you want to go up to like 4.5GHz.

I have an I5-6600k and an Asus z170A mobo and i was able to go up to 4.5 no problem. (You probably can go higher but i'm fone with 4.5)

If you want to try i can help you with it :) It only takes 1 minute and it's not as easy to break something as you'd think.

@Jezmund1 I don't know honestly. I'd say try to re download Hardware monitor and make sure you are not using a beta version or something.

Here's a picture of my Hardware monitor but the cores are normal numbered:

but normally that would mean 0, 1, 2, 3 for cores

not 0, 2, 4, 6

(the thoughts behind it are that 0 is a number as well and a computer has to count fron the first number, which is normally 0)

@Jezmund1 You can grab it from here. Just select your OS and it will list all the things you can get for your board so just scroll down to bios section.

I think you can update it from just your hard drive but if everything fails i'm sure you could put it on your phone and use that as a flash drive.

Ps: I strongly suggest getting at least an 8Gb flash drive because those things can be really handy.
