Hard Drive reader bay , for internal storage ?!

Hey guys.

Most of the time , i use PC for programming and gaming, which installed on SSD drivers .

The stuff like music , and video are located on the Storage units of hard drive 3.5 1-2 TB  .

So i was thinking, to buy my self a hard drive reader bay, and connect via the bay to PC the Storage units. That way , i will have full control over the HDD.

Powering it Off when not in use, controlling the noise ,  and in case i will have it full, i will just replace it with new one, and use only when i will need something from it.

The other reason for that , is that i have a lot of 2.5 old hard drivers from old Laptops, and some external drives .

I store on them some stuff that i use , very rare.

So my questions, by swapping hard drivers from bay , from time to time, will damage them in some way??

And what you think about the idea.

The only thing that will damage are the connectors, which won't likely happen at all.

Other than that drive life is also to consider as usual.

Emm. Thx, so what you think about this idea?

I'd rather plug it directly to my PC if your case still have room for more drives

But why. Think it that way. The life spawn will be longer , as your pc will not run it , when you don't need it. Also, that way you can have all your content any where you need, with out moving to external drive.

Drive can be idle for certain amount of time

There are cases with external HDD bay

And do you move drives a lot?

Well nop, but when i go to sleep, i keep pc on, and though i shut down the drivers, some time, they still running, so i want to prevent that from happening.
