Hi, i saw a really cheap 22 core processor on ebay. (Xeon E7-8880 v4 )

The socket for the cpu is FCLGA2011 so i was wondering which mainboards will fit.

I saw some really expensive dual socket board online but I'm searching for a quite cheap board (I heard you can maybe use normal 2011 boards).

It would be awsome if someone could help me to find a matching board.

Thanks in advance Julian

Ok thx for the answer. Reall 2011 becuase i heard that its a 2011-3. Do you think any mainboard like this will work: http://www.ebay.de/itm/MSI-X79A-GD65-8D-Intel-X79-Express-Motherboard-Sockel-2011-SLI-Crossfire-/142505934342?epid=115243463&hash=item212e03fe06:g:IugAAOSw0yxZt0yl

why do you need a 22 core xeon

I startet a new business and I need to run as many android emulators(nox) as possible. And i can get the 22 core for 350$ so I thought if I can get a good deal on a mainboard it would be just perfect.

You'd need to find a quad socket LGA2011-3 board for a decent price, which won't happen. Look for 16 or 18 core E5, those will work with many more motherboards.

It's not LGA2011-3

It's LGA2011-1, the server version of that architecture.

idk

I love how there's 3 revisions of the same socket (server versions of sockets are really dumb tbh, like LGA1567 or 1367 or whatever the older one was). I mean, it's reflected in the Kaby and Coffee lake situation atm, except with the exact same socket.

AMD in the sidelines:

WE GOT TWO SOCKETS.

PGA 1331 (AM4)

LGA 4096 (TR4)

PICK ONE, BOIS

idk

So what would you recommend for for 600$ cpu and mobo for android emulators? I thhink xeon must be good for that purpose

Ryzen 7 1700 has 8c/16t and runs way cooler and faster, also costs like 500 bucks.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious
