Thinking about buying bookshelf speakers but don't know how to install (SP-BS22-LR)

I'm not an audio guy but even after googling for a while it just seems impossible to find anything on actually connecting these to a TV or sub. How in the world does this work with these speakers? I currently have a 2.1 setup- satellites are connected to sub via 3.5mm [I think] and the sub is connected to my HDTV via a red and a white cable (RCA I'd assume). 

 

If I bought these speakers, what would I need to get them working?

You're supposed to use a stereo or AV receiver.
