Hello,
Can i get some tips from user that have tried the following cases.

Silverstone SG13, Cooler Master Elite 110 and Fractal Design Core 500.

I would like to built a small computer for gaming mostly MMO games.

I dont see myself messing with OC settings so it would run stock.

Here what I plan on using, basically would it overheat on the smallest case on my list? would long time performance degrade due to thermals?

i see quite literaly no reason for you to get the X370 version of that motherboard, there is as far as i know no benefit at all if you dont want to overclock anyway so save yourself a buck. PSU is a solid choice, as is the CPU and GPU. the C7 should be just fine, should have enough room to breathe in all of those

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

Those mITX boards from ASRock don't differ. There's no point in getting the X370 one if you can get the B350 for (a little) less. There's no benefit, they have exactly the same features: same audio chip, same lan chip, same wifi chip, same 8 phase power design, same vrm cooling.

And you should OC that 1700 chip since base clock is pretty low at stock and it's basically identical to 1700X and 1800X chips.

Concerning your case options: you have to be more specific. What do you want to know? Thermals should be ok. You could switch to a different case with AiO or custom loop support, though you'd have to choose a different GPU since those mini cards aren't reference design so water blocks won't fit.

I just changed the board on my list, thanks.

I guess the only difference I saw was the wifi speed one is listed at up to 867Mbps the other up to 433Mbps but it seem is the wifi antennas as they seem to be the same chip.

what is the general rule between the 1060 and 1070 would I gain that much better performance?
should I stay with the 1060 or upgrade to the 1070?

Case concern was just on thermal, I think I am leaning more towards the SG13, I just wanted to be AIR cooled for now.
I read that in the SG13 with a SFX PSU you could fit a cryorig c1 if that is true then I guess I dont have to worry at all about CPU temp as that cooler is rated up to 140 W.

Another question, I think I would change the RAM to the Corsair Vengeance LPX for their low profile in case I have to play around with different cooler I would have better clearance.

Now should I look at the 3200Mhz or 3000Mhz?
not being listed under the memory QVL make a difference?

Thanks.

1060 vs 1070 is more about the money. If you can get your hands on a reasonably priced 1070 and can afford the extra money then sure, go for it. A GTX1060 with 6GB is well capable of coping with modern games at 1080p. But it's just a matter of time that you'd be forced to dial down the details. If you want higher resolutions, then definitely go for the 1070 if you can afford it.

Concerning RAM: you can try that Corair RAM but if it's not on the QVL it's a gamble (unless you have solid reports on it to work properly). G.Skill has  modules without wastefully big ( and mostly useless) heatsinks (i.e. Trident Z). Go with CAS 14 and it should be pretty much a no brainer to reach speeds beyond 3000 MHz with up to 16GB.

Your PSU is a good choice. The Corsair SF series is basically the best choice you have when looking for a SFX PSU.

after swapping the parts on my list the price difference is only $104 so I will leave the 1070 in there now.

I will concentrate on the RAM,

I found this on the Asrock webpage:

Note6: Each RAM whose frequency is 3000 will downgrade to 2933 with Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac

Not sure what that mean if the RAM wont run past 2933 what about the 3200 would it downgrade to 2933?

So I am looking at this RAM it measures 40mm is 14-14-14-34 at 3200Mhz
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232530

It seem that most RAM measure 42mm tall, the cooler I would try have a 42mm RAM clearance so I am not sure if that would still leave a gap or look at 40mm or less.

good to know the selected PSU is a great choice.

Thanks.

1070 is a lot better

the bump from 3200 to 3000 isnt that big, dosent need to be on the list.
