We own our modem, it's just the standard Comcast Modem. Our router is the Nighthawk X4 R7500v2

If its a standard Comcast modem then you dont own it. Cable modems come with different specs and shit. Because I own my own modem and its an Motorola SB6141. Comcast has a shit ton of modems that are allowed to be put on their network. If you can go to 192.168.100.1 in your web browser you should have access to the modems diagnostic page. If you go to the signal tab you should get the info you need.

Compare it to this page: https://www.dslreports.com/faq/16085

If you signals are not in spec then your service will be shit or not work at all. In many cases if its a signal issue you need to have a tech out.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

yeah call them when you can dude, there's definetely something wrong in their wires/servers. sometimes it's just a temporary thing too, they might be doing maintenance or i don't know lol :P

And if it helps at all, the 5ghz channel works okay...

Still 1/5th of the download speed of what I used to get though.

Sorry to butt in here, but OP you really should do a test with it hooked up to ethernet, it could just be wireless that's bad... and if most of your wireless devices are getting that kind of speeds and disconnects etc, I'd say that's highly likely. Calling a tech out without doing an ethernet test is not wise, you'd pay for it for sure and the guy would turn up look at your router to see what link speed it's getting and perform an ethernet test possibly, then declare that it's your wireless at fault most likely.

If it IS your wireless and it can't be overcome by changing the broadcast channels to something less congested or whatever... that could be overcome by getting a wireless AP (or 2 if you need more coverage), the callout if the fault is on your end would most likely be almost half the cost of an AP, depending on what you go with. You can get much cheaper APs that work fine.
