You need to give more information if you want proper help.

What monitor(s) are you using with the system?

Will you use the system for anything other than gaming? If yes, what?

What games will you be playing?

Will you overclock?

When are you buying?

How is it a shitty case ? If you read reviews for it you will see that it is pretty good for the money.

Worse Ram ? In what way is it worse ? Ram is Ram is Ram. Also the ram you chose has no price so it is going to cost another £100+ for that. That takes him nearly £200 over budget.

When I did maths at school £73.35 was less than £88.24. Not sure what you are going on about there.

Anything else you want to bring up ?

The case has no top vents, looks like a huge flaw to me.

Cases like the Fractal Design R5 have those ModuVent fan covers on the top which are meant to be left in place when using an air cooler. That case doesn't suffer in any way from that. I don't think it is a flaw that the CM case has no vents at the top. As long as air is getting exhausted out of the rear then it will be fine.

Yeah, if he'll have the exhaust fan at higher RPM it will be fine. I am always going into extremes, i have shit load of case fans but run most of them at low RPM so i get the flow but low noise
