Looking for a laptop to last a good couple years in university.. I have a budget of about max of 1500 CAD.

Aside from the university work I'll be doing (word processing, excel) I'll be playing games with it as well (Cities: skylines, battlegrounds, Witcher...).

I was looking at the Dell Inspiron 7000, but I'm not the biggest fan of the "gamer" design.

Cheaper the better pls

At that price range I can name a few:

Gigabyte Sabre 15

MSI PE72

GL753VD

Although the GL series apparently have bad thermals and build quality. soooo

Paramedics, but there will also be light gaming. I was thinking GP62 6QF

Avoid MSI GV, GL/PL, GP and some GE/PE series and also Asus FX/GLxxxVD/VE, mediocre build quality

Edit: Seems like the Sabre 15 also has a not so good quality but at least IMO it's better than the models I had listed above

Desktop specs:

Spoiler

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB Gigabyte B550M DS3H mATX

Asrock Challenger Pro OC Radeon RX 6700 XT Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (8Gx2) 3600MHz CL18 Kingston NV2 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD

Montech Century 850W Gold Tecware Nexus Air (Black) ATX Mid Tower

Laptop: Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro 16ACH6

Phone: Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 8+128

Yes they aren't amazin but at a sub £700 pirce tag it is very hard to complain.

Have you looked into Dell 5000 Gaming Series (Intel)? They are good alternatives to the well known 7000 Gaming Series (7567) at a lower price.
