WD Black 4tb + 500gb NVME vs 2tb SATA SSD + 1tb WD Black

I'm looking at a new build and am figuring out my storage solution. Which would serve me better? The build will mostly be used for gaming and browsing, might dabble with video and photo editing as well.

Unless you plan on moving large amounts of files quite often, NVMe isn't really worth it on a consumer level yet.

 

But at the same time 2tb SSD storage is pretty overkill, games generally don't benefit from being on an ssd over a standard hard drive. I'd go maybe 1tb SSD and then whatever storage budget you have left, the biggest HDD('s, if you wanna raid for extra speed) you can get.

i agree, i have a 960 Evo m.2 NVMe. Its over kill. Dont notice much of a difference in games. 

 

It sure is funn seeing 400-500Mbps when moving games to it from a sata ssd.

500GB NVMe, 500GB SATA SSD, and 2TB Black, if you can. Open-world games can be placed on the SATA SSD while everything else goes to the HDD.
