This MSI obviously has much specs all around. But one think I question is how much better if at all better is the 3GB RAM GTX 1060 over the 4GB RAM 1050. How much will the 1GB less of Vram affect gaming? and is it worth the other gains of MSI features over the Nitro

Better Specs

Acer VS MSI GP72VR

15inch to 17inch

i5-7300HQ to i7-7700HQ

GTX 1050 4GB GDDR5 to GTX 1060 3GB GDDR5

8GB DDR4-2400 RAM to 16GB DDR4-2400 RAM

256GB SSD to 512 SSD + 1 TB HDD

Full HD IPS to Full HD Anti-Glare Wide View Angle Display

720p Front Camera to 1080 Front Camera

Like I said, the MSI is clearly a lot better, the only thing I truly question is the GPU

the 1060 3GB is better than a 1050 no doubt.

VRAM might be an issue in the future, but it shouldn't outweight the extra power of the 1060

I have a 970m with 3gb of vram and it seems to be enough power for me. 3GB of vram is plenty for me. Any more would be a waste since you won't be able to use it since the "weak" performance of the card.

Definitely the GTX 1060 3GB, it has a significant performance gain over the GTX 1050. As for VRAM, 3GB VRAM is still rather adequate for this year's and maybe, future titles. Though if you crank your games to Ultra all the time, the 3GB VRAM might slightly be an issue in the future (as it does consume more VRAM)

Daily drivers:

- HP Elite x2 1012 G2: Intel Core i7-7600U, Intel HD Graphics 620 + Aorus Gaming Box GTX 1080 eGPU, 16GB LPDDR3-1867, 256GB Toshiba NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD + 128GB Toshiba Exceria UHS-1 U3 MicroSD, 12.3" 2736x1824 + HP Pavilion 22cwa Monitor 21.5" 1080p IPS, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

- LG V20 (H990DS): Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (ARM-based), Adreno 530, 4GB LPDDR4, 64GB eMMC UFS 2.0 + 64GB SanDisk Extreme UHS-1 U3 V30 MicroSD, 5.7" IPS LCD 1440p + 2.1" 160x1040, Android 7.0 (LG UX 5.0)

The reason VRAM concerns me is because I like to play Ark: Survival Evolved. and With the 4GB GTX 1050 I sometimes get a error crash that says it due to not having enough VRAM But perhaps the true underlying factor is GPU power rather than just simply VRAM
