Hello

I have with help from this great forum build my first ryzen setup.

here are the specs

https://www.dropbox.com/s/vzsshpt2vb33eac/Udklip.PNG?dl=0

the issue is that after assembly, and installing windows the system keeps locking up.

the mouse arrow just stops, and i have to reset the system. i have tried only one ram block, updated bios, different ram slots. manually setting the ram for 1,35 volt and 3000mhz. the optimized settings set them for  2133mhz 1.2 volt

my temperature is around 40 degrees.

hopefully anyone have some tips for me to try

Have you tried using a different GPU or something (if you have one)?

Try resetting cmos..that helped me many times. Either hold reset cmos button 5 secfonds or flip the battery out of the mb, wait a few seconds and put it back in

Have you installed all the correct drivers for all your hardware? I may as well be that you forgot to install one of the drivers or you installed a driver that was not the correct one for your HW

And also double check all your connectors if they are connected properly and check if cpu cooler is seated properly, than try unpluging your mouse , keyboard or any pheripheral you have and see if the problem lies there

This could be any number of things.  I would start with checking your motherboard manual for the proper way to reset the cmos.  You could unplug the PSU, press the power button, then remove the battery for 5 minutes.  Or, some boards have a reset/clear cmos jumper or pins on the board.  This is usually quicker and easier as the battery is behind the GPU in some boards.

One could check the Windows Event log to see if any errors are reported.  If you're using Windows 10, do that Reset option to put windows back to stock settings.  You could install Aida64 and stress test each of your components individually, CPU/FPU, Cache, Memory, GPU, to see if any one part is somehow unstable.

If you have time, try plugging your build into a https://pcpartpicker.com/ parts list, then post a link here.  May be slightly easier than using an image in dropbox.

i can´t install drivers before it crashes, reset 3 times to get the chipset drivers completely done.

What operating system?  If you press F8 before Windows loads, does booting into Safe Mode also see the system crash?

Very strange...tell me if resetting cmos helped. Also I suggest you unplug all power connectors from MB, gpu and reconnect, than start the pc, than shut down, reset cmos again and start the pc again

after resetting cmos, i can only come to the windows screen, and the system locks.

the thing i keep stumbling over is that the ram is only running 1.2 when they should be 1.35volt

but can´t find the setting for adjusting only the voltage in uefi bios

the system

isen´t the DP for onboard graphics?

Ryzen doesn't have onboard graphics, the DP port is for other APUs that work with AM4

You may have to hit F7 or another hotkey to enter Advanced mode.  I'm not sure how your particular uefi works.  Also, look for an option to Enable XMP.  That should suggest options to clock your ram appropriately.

mine is pressing F2

changed it, but did not help me at all. starting to regret that i went the AMD way, have build a lot of intel systems, never any problems, and then first ryzen setup.. BAM!!

okay, i have been error searching, and it somehow seems to be the onboard nic that is messing with my system.

While in safe mode in device management i see a yellow triangle from drop down called Firmware, and systemfirmware.

I have not seen that before, anyone who knows what to do?

i used the tool in the uefi bios to update bios, and it went without problems

now up and running.... i hope. no crash or anything for one hour now.

So to sum up.

used latest windows 10 iso - drivers from the dvd that came with MB. (started downloading the newest because no optical drive)

Ram timings changed, and volt set to 1.35v and option 1 (cant remember name auto configuration thingy)

Bios updated first via USB and no name change, red the manual, and saw the recommended name should be different.

A LOT of google research, and saw that a lot of people have had same issue with the 16-1700 ryzen series

now i just need to test with games, and then start pushing performance and also need it to be more silent.

Thanks for all the help
