Pentium G4560

Im looking to build a computer, and i chose the intel pentium G4560 for my CPU, but i cant find it for sale anywhere in europe.

Every store gets it in stock 11.Nov, and that too late for me. Is there a good substitute for the same price or anyone out of scandinavia that still has it in stock?

This is for a budget gaming build. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZgqRcc , feel free to give suggestions, but remember not everything is available in Norway :)

Yes, Ryzen 1200 is really good, more futureproof, and has a better upgrade path

Any motherboard with a B350 chipset , because it will allow overclocking and overclocking Ryzen processors is very easy.

So basically the motherboard must have socket AM4 and B350 chipset

If Ryzen 3 is out of budget then you can still use AM4 APUs or Athlons and upgrade them in the future. These are based on old architecture, so you are buying them mostly for upgradability (though they still play games better than Pentiums since they have 2 more cores)

A320, B350 and X370 chipset boards. B350s are the best pick imo. Dont buy MSI ones though since they have VRM problems.

From all the comparison videos I've seen of R3 1200 v G4560, the G4560 fairs much better for gaming. If he's gaming I'd go for the G4560.

AMD 1200 and a B350 motherboard should yield similar results and let you overclock to about 3.7 without much issues. Just make sure the B350 board includes at least basic heatsinks for the VRM (some of the cheapest do not).

If you don't wanna go AMD the 4560 is difficult to find but the 4600 is also a 2 cores 4 threads chip from intel and also easier to find.

I disagree, they seem to have the same or negligible performance differences

CPU: Ryzen 1700@3.9ghz; GPU: EVGA 560 Ti 1gb; RAM: 16gb 2x8 Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3000; PCPP: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/b3xzzM

By default, G4560 fairs a tiny bit better compared to a Ryzen 3 1200. BUT, G4560 can not be overclocked, while Ryzen 3 1200 can be easily overclocked if you have at least a b350 chipset based motherboard. It's literally as easy as changing two settings in bios, anyone can do it.

With a bit of overclocking, Ryzen 1200 will be faster than G4560 and you also gain the benefit of being able to upgrade to an even faster processor in the future.

With G4560 you'd be stuck to whatever processors that motherboard supports, because Intel likes to change sockets very often.

// edit: ALSO , keep in mind that Ryzen 3 1200 comes with a basic heatsink that will be good enough to run the processor with default settings and maybe a tiny bit of overclocking, but you'll need a better cooler if you want to be able to use it to its maximum capabilities.

Still, if you have a small budget, you can skip the cpu cooler and use the one the processor comes with and a month or so later when you have more money you can buy the cooler and replace the stock one.  That's around 25-35$ saved.

You can also buy just one stick of 8 GB of memory and buy the second one later when you can afford it. They don't even have to be from same brand, but it would be nice - as long as you match the frequencies the motherboard should work just fine with them (if the frequencies don't match, the motherboard will auto select the frequency both memory sticks support)

Assuming you purchased the Hdd from seeing your list before, so I added ssd. I kept the monitor from your original build . this should be a good system.

then get asus if available there..asus & asrock boards seem to have good reputation for ryzen. try to avoid msi & gigabyte. another note if you want to upgrade to better processor at future then atleast get atx size b350 board because matx b350 ryzen boards seems to be weak in vrm which is not ideal for handling more than 4 core cpus. & get the faster ram you can afford, ryzen benefits from fast ram. goodluck :)
