Ultra wides?

Okay, so I'm looking for a really good all round 34" Ultra Wide monitor, right now I'm looking at the LG 34uc98-w, is there any other monitors I should know about before buying this almost 1000$ monitor?

Ultra wides? More like ultra thighs! 

 

No seriously though if you want one for gaming that is fine but if you are thinking about using only 1 for "Increased productivity" two monitors would be significantly better.

For starters, wrong resolution for the screen size, 34 inchs on 2560x1080p only is far too little pixels for the screen size, you'll get severe pixelation which will decrease a lot the quality of the image, 2560x1080p is good for 29 inch monitors like the LG 29UM69G.

 

If you really want 34 inchs you should look for the Acer X34 which is a great 3440x1440p screen.

I was looking at the x34 just because it's 3440 AND 100htz, but its pretty old and I'm worried about having to upgrade fairly soon after because that's a 1100$ monitor. Super pricey

I particularly can assure you that even if you'll play cs:go 100hz helps a lot, you feel more noticeable difference going 60hz to 100hz than 100hz to 144hz after all.

So then I should just pay a little more? I also am going into film and digital media design, which was the main reason why I was going for that LG monitor, will the x34 still give me good color and such?

If it will still give you good colour and such? hahah it's going to be better than the LG one mate ^^
