Is there a reason you wan't to upgrade? not performing well in games, editing, streaming etc?

If you don't have a reason then you might as well keep what you have now, as its a pretty good setup.

Just started streaming and using adobe programs for work. With gaming it's really good.

Ah, so you aren't happy with streaming and adobe performance?

It may be worth looking into a Ryzen 7 CPU. Or perhaps the upcoming Coffee Lake 6c/12t i7.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Hmm, could upgrade to a 6700K and that'll make streaming alot easier, an i5 isn't really ideal for streaming.

Or if you wanted a complete switch, a Ryzen 5 1600/1600x would work great too, but at the expense of new CPU and motherboard. (though a 1600 + decent b350 motherboard costs around the same as a 6700k).

upgrade your win 10 to linus ubuntu, obvfor serious, this rig is perfect for gaming, but for editing/streaming core count does it so unless you want to pay a fortune to intel, sell your old cpu and get a ryzen 7 or ryzen 5 something something, they should be as good in gaming and better in editing/streaming. But if you want to spent a fortune, pick up a ryzen threadripper 1920x or 1950x ( if youre already going crazy, ditch the threadripper 1900 ) or the intel someting something 10 cores 20 threads power house

am hungry

Yes, an i5 6600k should be fine for just gaming.

I have a 6700k at 4.7ghz. Far from ideal for streaming.

Wait for 8700k Coffee lake 6/12 cpu. That one will kill the Ryzen competition in multitasking and gaming for the price range.

Or buy Ryzen.. but at least 6cores. 8cores if ideal if you're streaming.

mobile versions of 8xxx coffee lake are getting out in a month or so.. If I'm correct, don't quote me on that.. desktop probably at the end of the year or spring next year..

I think it's worth the wait tho. It will be the most significant change in years
