Not much, because most consumer network stuff only supports up to gigabit speeds, but when 10Gbit per second speed become normal, it will be cool. Or at least if something like a NAS supports it, you can directly connect it to your PC.

What it will do:

Allow you to connect to another 10Gb device or switch and receive content from those devices that are capable of delivering content at that speed that exist on your LOCAL network.

 

What it will not do:

Make your internet speeds, browsing experience, or any other day to day non-large file transfer tasks faster.
