  • Buying by brand is dumb - buy by what suits your needs instead.

+1

One of my pet peeves is people who start thread asking for a build, with the phrase "I want to go Intel" (you can replace intel with anything -- "AMD", "NVidia", "ASUS", "Gigabyte", etc.)

yes, figure this out on your own.. we can reccomend one laptop to you that turns out you utterly hate because of some features missing that you really wanted etc..

narrow it down to two laptops and follow this guide to choosing your product:

1: is one cheaper than the other?
2: does one have useful features the other one doesn't
3: which one looks cooler?

you should have a laptop with 2/3 score, that will most likely be your best choice

Have you tried to perform a sudden temporary interrupt of the electricity flow to your computational device followed by a re-initialization procedure of the central processing unit and associated components?

clevo p870km1

barebones can be hard to specify.. many clevo's come with different hardware on the same model.. i have a Clevo W230SD (rebranded by a local computer shop) you can order this from clevo for example with around 7-8 very different cpu configurations.. one cpu is actually so powerful that the cooling will be insufficient.. there are also different gpu's to choose from and even different monitors (full hd/2k) all on the same model..
so i could reccomend my model of clevo, but you might find a same model clevo without dedicated graphics for instance.

i also think sager is a rebrand of clevo machines

sager is a distributor like your local PC shop iirc

the p870km1 is z270 based with mxm GPUs, so you order the base machine and PSU and board and then add what you want or your OEM does it.

idk

These are  p870km and they are easily to specify :D

i7-7700k needs to be delidded and there are resellers (those above make that) which offer that service

this was my point.. if the model has several configurations, you have to provide a specification list of what you recommend..

look at it this way, i can recommend you buy BMW as a car.. but did i mean the one with 200hp or 500hp? saloon/sedan/suv? an older model or the newest one?

Clevo/sager doesn't have fixed specifications for their models, so you have to provide the specifications of the specific config of the machine you are recommending

well ok, maybe they are defined there, sager is not available here, so i don't know much about it other than that they get laptops from clevo and rebrand them.. i think the sager w230sd is differently setup to mine if i remember correctly, but i know for a fact that my w230sd comes in different configs with different cpu's and monitors etc, and unless the reseller renames them to specific models, you might get an i5 instead of an i7 or similar things, even though it has the same name

there are many clevo resellers and some of them use different names. That's correct :)

Sager, Eurocom, Metabox or Mysn (XMG/Schenker) use different names for this p870km

this could be a good configuration:

120hz 17" panel display

i7-7700k delidded and unlocked

16gb ddr4 2400hz ram

250gb m.2 pcie ssd

1tb 7200rpm hdd

1xgtx1080 8gb mxm (but with double heatsink and vapour chamber)

killer wifi card

prema bios

win10

Thank you for the configuration.

Do you know a distributor in the US which can provide me with that?
