NEW DJI drones Mavic Pro Platnium and Phantom pro obsidian

Mavic Pro Platinum is 4 db quieter and has an extra 3 minutes of battery life. WOW that's totally worth an extra $100. (sarcasm) Why not mavic pro +? mavic pro platinum sounds dumb. I wonder if the new propellers are compatible with mavic pro. For the phantom 4 obsidian, no info yet but seems its just a new color.

Seems like a status update post, not a news article. Do you have pics/links and such? That way we can actually see what you're complaining about with the price increase for the Platinum version. (and quieter batteries and 3 minutes more flight time is handy, I know since me and my cousin own a Phantom 3).

I've been checking it out on their site. Seems to me the quietness would be super handy, especially if you film on the ground with a drone in the air, as you wouldn't pick it up on the mic...

I want to see if its just the new propellers. Maybe I can just add the new propellers to my mavic pro.

Yeah. That would be cool. I do know stiffer ones help with acceleration, but IDK about noise. The Phantom 4 Pro looks really cool as well, with an upgraded obstacle avoidance system, bigger care sensor, and still not much heavier than the normal Phantom 4, so no decrease in flight time. Plus, those drones can already go 45+MPH, so that's pretty awesome.

I can hit 40mph with my mavic. But sometimes I get a battery over discharge warning.

Ye... Mebbe swipe those props and stick them on yours and see how it goes. Though they did say they used some special quieter motors, but maybe the props are more efficient somehow.

Oh. I thought they could go 45+ in Sport Mode, at least the Phantom 4. But then it tilts forward 45 degrees, so you can't film anything.

I can get great footage at 40mph with mavic pro.
