What's the difference between FE and aftermarket FE?

Hello,

 

I've been wondering about one thing. What are the difference between for example Nvidia's Founder's Edition 1070 VS let's say ASUS Founder's Edition 1070? It's the exact same style, clocks, cooler etc.

Same with AMD. What's the difference between an AMD RX VEGA 56, and SAPPHIRE/MSI/ASUS/GIGABYTE RX VEGA56 "Founder Eiditions"? They look exactly the same, same display-outputs, same clocks.

I know about AFTERMARKET cards with different coolers/clocks than founders edition, but what's the difference between AMD/Nvidia's FE cards vs brands FE cards?

Edit: Isn't it the EXACT same card, just with the brand's GPU box different?

Yup, only difference is brand on the box and what customer service you'll be talking to

But yes, the only difference is the brand that's selling them so the warranty/RMA process may differ. Otherwise, they're the exact same cards.

More like AMD/Nvidia sells them a bunch of chips and then the manufacturer chooses what to do with them.

Aren't FE chips typically binned? 

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

No? I don't think so? 

 

The ones that are binned are stuff like the kingpin and hof and lightning. And maybe stuff like the strix oc.
