Why do manufacturers give 10% discounts that would otherwise be available at any other time? Why not give students a 20% or 30% discount as they may be more likely to give your product a good rating and recommendation to peers?

I think it is because the OnePlus 5 is reasonably new phone (not more than 2-3 months old) and is selling like crazy, basically they are doing the same thing apple is (with the student discount). And 450$ with the discount for that phone? That is a really nice deal
