Hello everybody,

I'm having a problem with my PC. i think it got a virus but whenever i start the PC after the windows logo there is only a black screen but i can move the cursor around. I can't log in to check for viruses and i think the virus disabled all my background processes or something.

Please help and let me know if the only thing i can do is format

Try a system restore. Windows allows you to bring your system back in time (without affecting your personal files).

Simply, boot from Windows install media (USB or disk), when you get to the screen where you have the big "Install Now" button, you'll see at the bottom left "Repair your computer", click on it. And in there you'll have the option to do a System Restore, and follow the wizard.
