How to compare CPU

I'm looking to build a new system, and currently, I'm attempting to choose the processor. Do you guys have any recommendations, on where to look at CPU benchmarks, and how to compare AMD vs intel?

they don't have every processor, such as the i3 7100 and Pentium G4560, etc.

 

 

Go to Anandtech, Gamers Nexus (their website), euro-gamer, Digital Foundary YT channel, etc

They don't even give legitimate benchmarks that show you what performance will be in specific scenarios. They don't compare IPC and just give a bunch of check marks for what's better on paper. They give a score that is complete garbage (rating 5960x above 6700k? That makes people think 6700k has better multi thread performance...)

 

The absolute WORSE sites you can use for comparisons are sites like CPUboss and gpuboss. It's sad that they show up first if you type in CPU a vs CPU b, since it's literal garbage.

The only way you can compare CPU to CPU is to look up benchmarks for your usage scenario.

My best comparison isn't really to use these websites. I typically get a general idea of what the specs listed are, not what they claim rather but what the listed specs for the actual processors and then compare via Paper Listed specs, then take it online and see how the benchmarks come out from other users.
