MSI or Aorus X399?

Looking to buy the a Threadripper rig but cant decide which motherboard. The only two boards in stock here are the MSI and the Aorus. The Asus Zentih is also available, but out of reach due to cost. Any pros and cons regarding these two? I know the obvious such as RGB, connector placements etc. Anything else I should be aware of?

if wifi is something you want to go with the Asrock X399 Taichi

the gigabyte has 5 PCI x16 slots instead of 4

the MSI is the same as the gigabyte one but with 4 PCI x16 slots

ask me about your system builds, AIO's, CPU's, PSU's, and GPU's.

I would wait for Asus because MSI has horrible reputation on AM4, their BIOs is buggy and sucks

My problem with that is the info on all the Motherboards are incorrect on the website shops, It's pretty annoying they are selling "pre-order" motherboards, And those don't have the correct info, I've been waiting couple days now for correct info's on some websites so I can move on with the build of my computer and compare motherboards, But I have my Enthoo Primo stand there catching dust D:

I'm even thinking about waiting for the 9th gen Intel cpu's now,

If you have to pick between the two, I would go with the Gigabyte board, simply becuase of the bad MSI reputation with the newer AMD chips (as someone said before).

However, if you can wait, an ASUS or ASRock board would probably be the best for the price.

Hope that helps!

I think the X399-A would be perfect for him

I agree. I really like the ASUS PRIME series overall because of its overall versatility at a reasonable price.

In my opinion, a better option than the ROG STRIX line of mobos if it can fit your aesthetic

I have the Asus X299 Prime board and Im not loving it. Like I said, only the Gigabyte and MSI are available right now. Well, the Asus Zenith too, but that costs an arm, a leg and my firstborn child. Leaning towards the Aorus board at the moment.

Yeah, if you're not loving the x299 Prime than I'm not sure the x399 would be for you. Definitely out of the two, go with the Aorus (as long as it matches your aesthetic, because thats the most important).

Hope this helps!

Good to know, I was leaning towards a MSI board, Now I am back off that, :P From the six current threadripper motherboards which are the best, "do you think"

And the,
ASRock X399 Professional Gaming, ASRock X399 Taichi?
I'm asking because those and the ASUS PRIME X399-A are the only ones with "DDR4 - 3600(OC)"

Ignore that ram limit, you cant really hit 3600MHz with most kits. You get 3200MHz kit and youre fine

I dont know. Professional Gaming is always really sweet full of features. Asus usually has the best quality and reliability. Pick the one you like more. VRMs are the same and BIOS should be fine at both. I like the Asus ecosystem, UEFI etc. i have no experience with ASRock

Both are great, BIOS wise AsRock and Asus are the best ones while MSi BIOS is hella mess that will end up leading you to RAM overclocking issues most likely.

I care about performance and stability, I will be installing two GTX 1080 TI's, in two way SLI, and going to overclock,
So from all these's motherboards, Which can deliver the best performance while being stable and has no temp issues when water cooling the CPU, And other things such as giving proper power delivery and handling of vram and so on,
