I would really love to start by saying I have been watching linus since back in the ncix days, I love all the mischief you all get into.

I would really love to see a video about the new scorpio xbox one vs a high end pc and an enthusiast pc, compair the numbers :) .

I hope linus,or someone, has already thought about this . otherwise just keep the great content comming.

Simply comparing the specs, there's a wide range of high end PCs that would curb stomp the Xbox One X and it wouldn't be interesting.  But that should also matter is PRICE as those same PCs builds would curb stomp most consumer's wallets.  If you take a look at the build threads even on this forum, most people are not building very high end gaming PCs and those that are are not doing so at the $499 USD price point of the Xbox One X.

Mhmm, I would like to see that too, But my view on the Xbox One X has changed since finding out that not all games will run at 4K at 60fps and some will have a frame rate cap :/. Anyway, what i'm trying to say is that a PC is better for obvious reasons and one of the very few ways that the new Xbox can contest that is the price.

Well, i kind of knew that 60fps at 4k on this machine wasn't always possible since first hearing it but whatever, it sounded good, too good to be true later.

Haha, nah. I don't think that'd really make sense for a video Obviously a very high end gaming PC is going to absolutely crush an Xbox One X, but they're targeting different markets. A better video would be comparing a $500 PC to an Xbox One X.

I don't think it'd fare well, considering you have to pay for Windows and peripherals. And no, I don't consider Kinguin a good source for Windows.

I wonder if you could maybe eBay/craigslist/kijiji/old used parts yourself something comparable within that budget, but the GPU would be the most expensive part.  For a LOT of stuff you could cheap out on and compete.  It wouldn't take much effort to beat out the 8 core 2.3ghz custom Jaguar/Bobcat CPU (So long as we're not competing on TDP) with an older CPU for example, but your GPU would be the hardest thing to make fit that budget.

Many people recommend it on the forum though for cheap keys.

Many people also suggest pirating movies. Doesn't mean that it's an ethical thing to do.

Yes and no, since the games are more optimized for the Xbox's hardware.

I think you could build a PC that would be pretty close...then again, it all depends on the state of mining and where the cards pricing is sitting when it's released.

eBay is such a bad place to shop for PC hardware :P I get what you mean though. I can get RX 580s for $250ish locally, so yeah, I could see a PC with that, the new 4c/4t locked i3 doing pretty well.

In the end we all know the PC is more versatile and would win, but I'll always enjoy playing on consoles, even if it does take a barely noticeable (to me) performance hit.

Well, eBay can depend.  But even looking at Kijiji (It's like craigslist, but it's buy-sell only, so you can't to organize an orgy. :o (here in Toronto, an RX 580 goes for a lot more than the equivalent of $250 USD.  I suspect it's former miners trying to recoup or people trying to cash in on would be miners.  eBay can be a great place to get older CPUs and if you're looking for specific motherboards, it's good too.  I needed an mATX Socket FM1 motherboard and there were none laying around in the local used stuff sales but I got one for a good price shipped from China via eBay.  On the other hand, GPUs aren't priced the best on eBay.

Yeah, for sure. I've gotten killer deals, but for the most part when I watch items they always go higher than even retail.

I got 3 800GB Intel SSDs last month for $400.

Kijiji has a personals section, nothing is orgy free ;) It's definitely area dependent. I think there's more miners getting rid of cards here (the $250 was CDN, not USD). CPU's can be good, I almost pulled the trigger on a new i3 7350k. Waiting though..

When is Coffeelake supposed to come again? :P

Anyway, on topic.  Seeing a sorta 'Aggressive Used Parts Build' would be cool to see though maybe that'd tread too close to Scrapyard Wars territory.  And also not EVERYONE can use used parts.  Not everyone has parts laying around or live in an area with a good marketplace of used goods around them.

But it's a topic that interests me way more than 'Buy expensive things, make fast thing with expensive things'.
