Hello everyone Im a long term lurker here, first time poster...

Not sure if anyone else is having issues with windows 7 throwing a BSOD when a usb device is plugged in, did a quick search and didnt find anything.

This happens about 50% of the time for me and only on the front panel connection. I have the newest BIOS and windows updates.

Any insight as to what is causing this? Fault front IO connector? Faulty MB?

Could be an issue with the usb driver on your motherboard. Have you tried reinstalling it? Or the front panel can be the issue, i have mine hard shutdown my computer by putting in a usb drive.

does this happen when you plug into both usb2 and usb3 port?

Its never happened on the USB2 port, only USB3.

@MeltyMoon Windows says the USB3.0 Root hub driver is up to date (2.5.0.19)

When I put my rig together I remember the entire front assembly accidentally came off, disconnecting the power/reset buttons - wonder if that messed the USB connection too...
